Will Christians Suffer Great Tribulation?

The View From The Bunker with Derek Gilbert:

JESUS OFFERED a pretty bleak prophecy for His followers in the end times. Contrary to the feel-good message coming from many pulpits today, Jesus told us others will “deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name’s sake. And then many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another.”

In fact, there are parts of the world where the faithful have faced death for the gospel’s sake for nearly two thousand years. Why, then, do so many of us expect the Great Tribulation to be limited to the last seven years before Christ’s return?

Longtime broadcaster and Bible student
Joe Ortiz, author of Why Christians Will Suffer “Great Tribulation“, discusses why the church, regardless of the timing of Christ’s return, have difficult times ahead.

John 16:33 ESV
33 I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.

  1. This author is a FALSE TEACHER. He subscribes to the following antibiblical positions in his books:

This book claims to: prove that The Bride of the Lamb is not the Church, that there will not be a 1000 year millennial reign of Christ, that the human soul does not go to heaven or hell immediately after death, that the Promised Land is not in the Middle East, that God's children of promise are not solely ethnic Jews, that the church of God began thousands of years before the Day of Pentecost, and that God's true disciples will experience great tribulation.

How can you promote such rubbish?

  2. The interview did not reveal those issues. Could you help me out and send references from the book?

I do believe there is biblical evidence supporting the concept of Christians going through the Great Tribulation, but not subjected to God's wrath (Armegeddon) upon the "earth dwellers".

  3. The author states that the Church will be caught up in the air to meet Christ(pre wrath), not into heaven in a pre trib rapture.

    From the website

These two books will refute the varying millenarian doctrines and biblically prove that the Lord's Kingdom reign will not be in heaven; but, rather, it will be an eternal reign on earth, and obviously longer than 1000 literal years. This new heavens and earth aspect will prove that God’s Holy City, New Jerusalem, is the true Promised Land and it comes down to earth much sooner than is perceived by most theologians.

He provides scripture that refute the notion that a special geopolitical kingdom will be established solely for Jews in the land we today call Israel. He also proves that the Christian Church is not the Bride of Lamb, but rather that New Jerusalem, God's Holy City is the true Promised Land, and the future residence of God's children of promise, right here on earth!

Hopefully, these books will provide all of God's children of promise with peace, comfort and joy knowing that God can rescue His true church while at the same time pour out His wrath on the unbeliever, (Psalms 91:7,8; 2 Peter 2:9; 1 Corinthians 10:13; Revelation 3:10).

Here's where the author is coming from regarding political Israel:

I do not understand the author's positon on the Church not being the Bride, but rather the New Jerusalem. ( IMO, you can't have one without the other )

However, I won't throw the baby out with the bath water. I will continue to investigate.

This is an urgent message that needs to be spread to dispell Hollywood's version of rapture.

  5. Jesus said let not your heart be troubled ye believe in God believe also in me. In my Fathers house are many mansions if it were not so I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you and, if I go to prepare a place for you I will come again and receive you unto Myself that where I am there ye may be also.
    Jon 14:1-3 (Rapture)

Because you have kept the word of My perserverence I also will keep you from the hour of testing (tribulation) that hour which shall come upon the whole world
Revelation 3:10 (whole of the Tribulation)

Rely on literal Scripture and you can't go wrong...unless you twist it.

  6. How do you get the 'whole of the Tribulation' from the 'hour of testing' without twisting scripture. I think people follow church doctrine instead of Gods word. Read whats really there and not what you are taught it means. I think this would be an interesting book that challenges church dogma and allows legitimate questions to be asked.
Who ever wrote this author is a false teacher hasnt read their bible for themself either. The bible does not teach that you will go to heaven until Christs return. Read it for yourself!! Heres a question for you? How can the church be the body of Christ and his bride? Something to wonder at!
