Pope Beats Globalist Drum in Panama

POPE HEADS TO CARAVAN COUNTRY TO PUSH CENTRAL AMERICAN MIGRATION

Pope Francis decried the fear of migrants Thursday during his visit to Panama, seemingly advocating for the migrant caravans that flooded the southern U.S. border.

Francis made the comments during his visit to preside over World Youth Day in Panama amid the fomenting of more migrant caravans in Central America. The pontiff urged church leaders to advocate for hospitality and acceptance of migrants in the countries to which they try to gain entrance, which in past months have been Mexico and the U.S. (RELATED: Afghan And Iraqi Interpreters Risk Death, Wait Years For Legal US Visas While Migrant Caravan Demands Immediate Entrance)

...Francis has also called for countries across the globe to open their borders to waves of migrants from the Middle East and North Africa, imploring them to abandon their fears of predominantly Muslim migrants despite the Islamic terrorist attacks that have plagued countries with significant migrant populations.

Doctor blasts New York’s ‘horrible’ new abortion law

Pro-life obstetrician blasts New York’s ‘horrible’ new abortion law

January 24, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) – A pro-life obstetrician-gynecologist is speaking out against New York passing a law this week to enshrine a “fundamental right” to abortion and strip protections from preborn babies until birth, warning that the move will have grave consequences for the character of the state and the nation.
Dr. William Lile, a board-certified OB/GYN and pro-life public speaker who maintains the ProLifeDoc website, said that modern medical technology is already giving preborn babies blood transfusions, heart surgery, and more.
“If they're a patient they're a person, and if they are a person they deserve our protection,” he said in a YouTube video released today.
Dr. Lile emphasized that abortion-on-demand has nothing to do with sound medical practice.
"I've been in private practice almost 20 years and I've delivered almost 4,000 babies with two primary rules: we want to have a healthy mom and we want to have a healthy baby," he said.
New York’s state Senate voted 38-24 and the state Assembly 92-47 in favor of the so-called “Reproductive Health Act.” Democrat Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who signed the bill, called it a “historic victory for New Yorkers and our progressive values” and ordered the One World Trade Center spire to be lit in pink to mark the occasion.
The bill declares that “Every individual who becomes pregnant has the fundamental right to choose to carry the pregnancy to term, to give birth to a child, or to have an abortion,” erases the state’s recognition of preborn babies older than 24 weeks as potential homicide victims, removes abortion from the penal code entirely, and allows licensed health practitioners other than full doctors to commit abortions.
The New York State Right to Life Committee warns that by declaring abortion a “fundamental right,” it opens the door to invalidating “any limits on abortion” and “mandat[ing] that everyone take part in the culture of death”; prevent pregnant women whose babies are killed in violent attacks from seeing justice; and it will have the effect of “authorizing infanticide” by repealing the requirement that a second physician be on hand in the event that an attempted abortion past twenty weeks yields a live infant.
Pro-life leaders and commentators across the nation have spoken out against the new law.
Dr. Lile, who grew up in New Jersey, noted the cheers and smiles in the New York capitol building when the bill was passed.
“Celebrating what? The governor just signed a law saying that we can take the lives of the babies in the womb up until their due date. That's nothing to celebrate,” he said, noting that babies sometimes need to be delivered early but never killed in the process.
“To take the lives of these babies in the womb breaks my heart. It is not good for us and is not good for America,” he argued. “America is a nation that was founded on virtuous people. You know, our freedom is built on our virtue. You know, [Alexis] de Tocqueville when he came to view America and study Americans, said ‘why is America great?’ His conclusion: America is great because America is good; if America ceases to be good, America will cease to be great.” (Note: Tocqueville never wrote the above quote, which has long been attributed to him by leaders across the political spectrum, though he did express similar sentiments.)
“There are consequences for actions, and unfortunately I think New York State will suffer consequences for this kind of horrible behavior,” Lile predicted. By contrast, he referenced Florida lawmakers’ introduction of legislation to protect preborn babies as soon as their heartbeats can be detected. “That is good; protecting the lives of the babies on the inside is a good thing, it is a virtuous thing,” he said.
“If America wants to stay great, America must continue to be that shining light on the hill and do good. Taking lives of the bab[ies]: not good. Protecting the lives of the bab[ies] and treating them as patients, as persons and protecting them: that is good. And, that's what we will stand up for and that's what we will fight for,” he declared. “We will stand up for those who cannot stand themselves, we will speak out for those who cannot speak for themselves, and we will protect the lives of the preborn.”
Dr. Lile has also written an op-ed published on LifeSiteNews on how medical treatment in the womb demonstrates the humanity of the preborn.

Tensions High Between U.S. and Venezuela

Trump says 'all options on table' as Venezuela crisis deepens

Venezuela’s opposition leader, Juan Guaidó, has secured significant international support after declaring himself interim president in a bid to force out Nicolás Maduro as two nights of unrest gripped the country, leading to the deaths of 14 people.

Guaidó was quickly recognised by the US, Canada, Brazil, Colombia and other US allies in the Americas, while the European Union said the voice of the people “cannot be ignored”.

Donald Trump warned that “all options are on the table” if Maduro – who has overseen the country’s slide into authoritarianism and economic collapse – responded with force against the opposition. Mike Pence later made clear the US would use “the full weight of our diplomatic and economic pressure”. US officials said the US would look at ways to transfer Venezuelan assets and oil revenues to Guaidó and the opposition-run national assembly.

Four strong earthquakes hit off southern coast of Indonesia

Four earthquakes have struck waters south of Indonesia over five hours, with the strongest recorded as a 6.4 magnitude tremor.
The first of the four quakes struck at 7.59am (local time) in the ocean off the south-west coast of the Nusa Tenggara Timur island and north of Port Hedland in Western Australia.
The shake was measured as a magnitude 6.0 and extended 37 kilometres below the earth’s surface, according to the Australian Government’s Earthquakes GA website.

Nine minutes later, a magnitude 5.2 aftershock was also recorded in the same location at a depth of 45km.
Less than an hour after that, another 5.2 struck before the magnitude 6.4 earthquake hit at 1.10pm just seven kilometres below the surface.
The last of the four tremors was so strong, seismologists believe it may have been felt up to 697km and as far away as Denpasar and Surabaya in central Indonesia, and as far east as Timor-Leste.
It may have also caused some structural damage up to 56km away from the quake's epicentre, according to seismologists.

Israel bombs Iranian targets near Damascus after missile fired at Israeli Golan

IDF warns Syria not to intervene, hours after Iranian missile fired at Israel in apparent retaliation for daylight attack near capital; army shutters Mount Hermon ski resort

Israeli forces bombed targets belonging to Iran inside Syria early Monday morning, the Israel Defense Forces said in a statement, as tensions on the northern border continued to skyrocket.

The Israeli army said at 1:30 a.m. it was “now striking Iranian Quds targets in Syrian territory,” and warned Syrian forces not to intervene.

“The IDF warns the Syrian Armed Forces against attempting to harm Israeli territory or forces,” the army said in a rare statement.

The attack came less than a day after Israel reportedly carried out a rare daylight strike on targets near Damascus, after which Iranian forces in Syria fired a retaliatory missile at Israel, according to the IDF. The exchanges ratcheted up concerns of a wider confrontation between Israel and Iran in Syria. The Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper reported Monday that the Iranian missile, intercepted en route to the Golan by Israel’s Iron Dome defense system, carried a nearly half-ton warhead.

World Council of Churches Trained 2,000 Activists in Anti-Israel Advocacy

The World Council of Churches (WCC) has sent nearly 2,000 participants to Israel, and Judea and Samaria, since 2002 to train them in anti-Israel narratives and assign them to communities worldwide, according to a report from NGO Monitor.

With no similar program in other conflict zones, the WCC’s Ecumenical Accompaniment Program in Palestine and Israel (EAPPI) consists of activists being sent to “witness life under occupation.”

“EAPPI misuse tourist visas to enter Israel, where the group has no legal status,” according to NGO Monitor. “They are hosted in Jerusalem by a WCC affiliate, the Jerusalem Interchurch Center (JIC). Notably, the head of JIC, Yusuf Dahar, is one of the authors of the Kairos Palestine Document, which legitimizes terror, embraces anti-Jewish theology and rejects Jewish history. Similar views have been expressed by a number of WCC officials.”
