MIDDLE EAST TENSIONS RISING

TRUNEWS

The Situation In The Skies Over Syria Is Getting Much More Intense While Iran Is Vowing To Respond To Last Weekend’s Terror Attack.

In the wake of the Israeli involvement in the downing of a Russian surveillance aircraft over Syria and a terrorist attack on an Iranian military parade, tensions are rapidly tightening in the Middle East.
With regard to the downing of the Russian Ilyushin Il-20 surveillance plane, The Israeli security cabinet met “urgently” early this morning to discuss the matter, delaying Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s departure for New York City, where he is now attending the opening of the UN General Assembly. Following the meeting, Netanyahu said the Israel Defense Forces will continue to “carry on operations to prevent Iran from establishing a military foothold in Syria,” adding those efforts will be coordinated with Russia.

Russia has responded to the matter by deploying eight S-300 batteries to Syria over Israel’s objections. Those systems are not only able to penetrate deep into Israeli territory, but can also jam both air and ground-based radar and military electronics systems.
Both sides have agreed to further military meetings to discuss the matter.
The other developing situation is Iran’s response to the terrorist attack on the military parade in Ahvaz, and in particular, a video that was posted to a Iranian pro-government Twitter account early this morning, but which has been subsequently deleted.
The video features suspenseful cinematic music in the background as bullseyes target the Saudi capital of Riyadh, the Israeli capital of West Jerusalem, and the United Arab Emirates capital of Abu Dhabi. Also heard in the video is a snippet of an April speech by Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in which he said:
“The era of the hit-and-run has expired. A heavy punishment is underway.”
The video was removed a short time before Iranian President Hassan Rouhani was set to give a speech highly critical of the U.S. at the opening of the United Nations General Assembly today. In that speech he compared President Donald Trump to the Nazis of World War II-era Germany.
