Corrie ten Boom on Pretrib Rapture

Files From Toni

Many Christians are unaware of the warning written in a letter by Corrie ten Boom where Miss ten Boom warns against a pre-tribulation rapture false doctrine.

...In her worldwide travels Miss ten Boom met with many Christians abroad. Many in the Suffering Church were enduring persecution just as she had. She met with Church leaders of the underground church in China. There she became aware of what had happened to the Chinese church in 1949. At that time Mao Tse Tung was bringing China into communism. The American missionaries had left the country. Chinese Christians entered into a time of intense persecution.

During that period the Pre-Tribulation Rapture doctrine had been the accepted teaching. But there was a problem. And it turned out to be a serious one. This Biblically unfounded doctrine had not prepared the Chinese Church for witness under trial. Christian believers were interrogated and brutalized under the Red Guard. Many fell away from the faith in those times.

There are some among us teaching there will be no tribulation that the Christians will be able to escape all this. These are the false teachers that Jesus was warning us to expect in the latter days. Mos of them have little knowledge of what is already going on across the world. I have been in countries where the saints are already suffering terrible persecution.

In China, the Christians were told, " Don't worry, before the tribulation comes you will be translated- raptured." Then came a terrible persecution. Millions of Christians were tortued to death. Later, I heard a Bishop from China say, sadly,

"We have failed..
We should have made the people strong for persecution,
rather than telling them Jesus would come first.
Tell the people to be strong in times of persecution,
how to stand when the tribulation comes,
to stand and not faint."

  1. Well it does teach in the Bible the Rapture of the Church. Of course there will be tribulations for believers as there always have been this is also taught. Just because it doesn't say the word "Rapture" just like "Trinity" does not mean it wont happen. John 14:1-3 says that Jesus is going to prepare aplace for us so we will be with Him in Heaven. At the 2nd coming we will be on earth with Him
Also Rev.3:10-11 Jesus is telling His true Church that they will be kept from the hour of trial that will come upon the whole Earth. There are many more passages...please read the Bible literally, thats why He gave it to us, so we will know and be prepared.

  2. Veronica,

I do believe in the Rapture. The question is when and for whom does it occur.

The opening of the 5th and 6th seals of Revelation reveals there will be believers who suffer martyrdom.

I believe the Bible indicates this will happen before the Rapture of believers that follow.

  3. Veronica,

    For your consideration... Part I

I believe in the prophetic 70 weeks of Daniel and the rapture...but when does it take place?

In Revelation three types of end of age believers.

Rev 6: 5th seal believers ( souls under the heavenly altar of incense ) crying out to God to avenge their deaths ( martyred ). Their receive their white robes ( glorified bodies ) and told to rest a little while more. IMO, the church age believers.

At the end of the Rev 6, catyclismic earth upheaval points to the Day of the Lord. Even the wicked understand the sign of His coming.

Rev 7: "After this" John sees the sealing of 144,000 of the tribes of Israel. 144,000 who also recognize the sign of His coming at the end of Chap 6, who repent and confess that Jesus truly is their Messiah. These are the 6th seal believers.

It seems that the rest of the believers that the 5th seal believers cried out for previously, were collectively caught up into the throne room of God, join with the other 5th seal believers who were resting under the heavenly throne in their white robes. Not by rapture, But by mass murder.

    God said:

"Then they were each given a white robe and told to rest a little longer, until the number of their fellow servants and their brothers should be complete, who were to be killed as they themselves had been."

A mass holocaust of 5th seal believers on earth completes the number of believers to receive white robes in the heavenly throne room of God.

Rev 12:17 Then the dragon became furious with the woman and went off to make war on the rest of her offspring,on those who keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Jesus. And he stood on the sand of the sea.

Rev 13:7 Also it was allowed to make war on the saints and to conquer them

Chap 7 describes the reunited group of "killed" believers as the new priests of the Temple of God:

"Therefore they are before the throne of God,
and serve him day and night in his temple"

This occurs after the sealing of the 144,000 of the tribes of Israel.

Angels withheld the destruction of the earth until all were sealed:

"Do not harm the earth or the sea or the trees, until we have sealed the servants of our God on their foreheads."

It seems that 144,000 Jews come to Christ after witnessing the great sign of His coming in Chapter 6. The time of Jacob's trouble begins. This group I call the 6th seal believers.

Revelation 8 - The seventh seal.
Includes the 7 trumpets, the 7 thunders, the 7 plagues.

During the 7th seal, still more sinners repent and believe, no doubt because of the witness of the 144,000 6th seal believers. I call this growing group the 7th seal believers.

Rev 9 (the 1st of 3 woes) The 5th trumpet opens the abyss. Those 6th and 7th sealed believers are divinely protected. Those who are not sealed, are not protected. The 6th trumpet looses the 4 mighty angels chained at the Euphrates...hell unleashed on earth.

  4. PART II

"They were told not to harm the grass of the earth or any green plant or any tree, but only those people who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads.

Revelation 11: (the 2nd woe) Still within the 7th seal, we have the 2 witnesses and the beast that rises out of the abyss in chapter 9.

The 7th trumpet of the 7th seal sounds, and the heavenly temple is opened and the ark of the covenant revealed.

""The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he shall reign forever and ever."

Revelation 14: Rapture? After the 7th trumpet
    (Yom Terauh?)

1Then I looked, and behold, on Mount Zion stood the Lamb, and with him 144,000 who had his name and his Father’s name written on their foreheads.
No mention of killing, or death. Just appearance as the heavenly temple is opened.

Three angels delivery 3 messages to those still on the earth...worship or take the mark of the beast and you will suffer God's wrath.

Yet another harvest of believers occurs at the 7th trumpet...3rd message

"12 Here is a call for the endurance of the saints, those who keep the commandments of God and their faith in Jesus.

13And I heard a voice from heaven saying "Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on." "Blessed indeed," says the Spirit,"that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow them!"

Blessed are the dead, those who die...no rapture for this group.

I called this group of believers the 7th trumpet believers.

Rev 15- the 7 plagues of the 7th seal
The wrath of God is finished.

The 7th trumpet believers are found as the Temple Choir:

2And I saw what appeared to be a sea of glass mingled with fire—and also those who had conquered the beast and its image and the number of its name, standing beside the sea of glass with harps of God in their hands. 3And they sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb

Rev 19: The King Returns with His Army

14And the armies of heaven, arrayed in fine linen, white and pure, were following him on white horses. 15 From his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and he will rule them with a rod of iron. He will tread the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty. 16 On his robe and on his thigh he has a name written, King of kings and Lord of lords.

    Rev 20 The First Resurrection

There are some 7th seal believers who are raised from the dead (as a sign to those who survived Armegeddon?)as judges for the Millenium reign of Christ:

4Then I saw thrones, and seated on them were those to whom the authority to judge was committed. Also I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years

    Summary

5th sealed believers ( church age ): Martyred til "number complete", including a possible holocaust.

6th seal believers ( 144K, Tribes of Israel ) raptured, no death terms associated here

7th seal believers experience bodily death, but protected from the torturious acts of Satan's minions.

  5. And, what about God's wrath befalling earth beginning with the sixth seal (Rev. 6:12)? If we are not under God's wrath, then why would we be here? Further, wouldn't believers watching the signs, then seeing the anti-Christ, sound an alarm? And, has anyone looked at Revelation 3:10? In the letter to the Philadelphian church (the only faithful church), Jesus says, "Because you have kept my command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world to test those who dwell on the earth."

Who will be kept from this hour of trial if not pre-Tribulation saints?

  6. 2iceblest

God's wrath coming upon the earth described in Rev. 6:12 & Rev:6:17 parallels with Matthew 24:29-31, and this is the after the tribulation of those days according to Matthew 24:29-31, and this is the wrath that God's remnant are delivered from---->>>Rapture

Jesus does not say the the saints are caught up in Rev. 3:10, that is a lie/deception being peddled by the pre-tribulation false teachers.

  7. For all who seek truth about the pretrib rapture, here is what I saw on the internet:

Type in "Joe Ortiz's End Times Passover (April 9)" right away on Google etc. Media personality Ortiz has managed to find a way to expose historian Dave MacPherson for what he is! After what you may have heard, you will discover that MacPherson is a horse of a different color and not what you think he is, regardless of whether or not you have heard about him directly or indirectly. It is true, as Rapture Ready revealed (in an article entitled "Who's Who of Prophecy"), that MacPherson bought the first ticket ever sold at Disneyland - on July 18, 1955. Whether this means that MacPherson has "Goofy" theology or lives in historical "Fantasyland" is up to you to decide. Be careful when you are checking out the "End Times Passover" blog because there is other important material to evaluate (handle with care!) as well, including a reproduction of part of Margaret MacDonald's handwritten "pretrib rapture" revelation of 1830 (that MacPherson reportedly found in the British Library in England) which Joe Ortiz featured in his blog (see "End Times Passover" and locate this "historical find" under March 9, 2010 in the list of past articles). This material is for mature Christians only.

    PRETRIB RAPTURE SECRETS

How can the “rapture” be “imminent”? Acts 3:21 says that Jesus “must” stay in heaven (He's now there with the Father) “until the times of restitution of all things” which includes, says Scofield, “the restoration of the theocracy under David’s Son” which obviously can’t begin before or during Antichrist’s reign. ("The Rapture Question," by the long time No. 1 pretrib authority John Walvoord, didn't dare to even list, in its scripture index, the too-hot-to-handle Acts 3:21!) Since Jesus can’t even leave heaven before the tribulation ends (Acts 2:34, 35 echo this), the rapture therefore can't take place before the end of the trib! (The above verses from Acts were also too hot for John Darby - the so-called "father of dispensationalism" - to list in the scripture index in his "Letters"!)
Paul explains the “times and the seasons” (I Thess. 5:1) of the catching up (I Thess. 4:17) as the “day of the Lord” (5:2) which FOLLOWS the posttrib sun/moon darkening (Matt. 24:29; Acts 2:20) WHEN “sudden destruction” (5:3) of the wicked occurs! The "rest" for "all them that believe" is tied to such destruction in II Thess. 1:6-10! (If the wicked are destroyed before or during the trib, who'd be left alive to serve the Antichrist?) Paul also ties the change-into-immortality “rapture” (I Cor. 15:52) to the posttrib end of “death” (15:54). (Will death be ended before or during the trib? Of course not! And vs. 54 is also tied to Isa. 25:8 which is Israel's posttrib resurrection!)
Many are unaware that before 1830 all Christians had always viewed I Thess. 4’s “catching up” as an integral part of the final second coming to earth. In 1830 this "rapture" was stretched forward and turned into a separate coming of Christ. To further strengthen their novel view, which the mass of evangelical scholars rejected throughout the 1800s, pretrib teachers in the early 1900s began to stretch forward the “day of the Lord” (what Darby and Scofield never dared to do) and hook it up with their already-stretched-forward “rapture.” Many leading evangelical scholars still weren’t convinced of pretrib, so pretrib teachers then began teaching that the “falling away” of II Thess. 2:3 is really a pretrib rapture (the same as saying that the “rapture” in 2:3 must happen before the “rapture” ["gathering"] in 2:1 can happen – the height of desperation!).
Other Google articles on the 181-year-old pretrib rapture view include “Famous Rapture Watchers,” "Pretrib Rapture Diehards," “X-Raying Margaret,” "Edward Irving is Unnerving," “Thomas Ice (Bloopers),” "Walvoord Melts Ice," “Wily Jeffrey,” “The Rapture Index (Mad Theology),” “America’s Pretrib Rapture Traffickers,” “Roots of (Warlike) Christian Zionism,” “Scholars Weigh My Research,” “Pretrib Hypocrisy,” "Pretrib Rapture Secrecy," “Deceiving and Being Deceived,” and "Pretrib Rapture Dishonesty" – all by the author of the bestselling book “The Rapture Plot” (see Armageddon Books).

  9. Corrie is right! We need to listen to what Jesus says in Matthew 24:29-31. Matthew 24:13 Jesus said But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. Do we believe what Jesus said, or do we believe men and their traditions? There's only one coming of the Lord not two. Jesus is coming at the LAST TRUMP, the 7th trump. He is not coming until two things happen.
    There's a warning in this verse to us. 2 Thessalonians 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except (unless) there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
