Islamic Antichrist?
"...he (Glenn Beck) moved onto the Twelfth Imam with guests Joel Richardson and Zuhdi Jasser. They talk about the stunning similarities between the Islamic Twelfth Imam -- a belief held by a small, radical group of Muslims including Ahmadinejad -- and the Biblical Antichrist. Richardson is the author of The Islamic Antichrist. Jasser is a Muslim American and friend of Glenn's."

I don't think the Antichrist will be Islamic. As it says in the book of Daniel, he will be of Roman origin.
ReplyDeleteThe war of Gog and Magog has to happen beforehand anyway, which will bring the Islamic rising down. God is in control, and His plan is going to order...
I have to agree with Veronica. He comes out of a people that attacked Jerusalem and destroyed the Temple and although it may have involved people from Arab countries the seat of power was with Rome itself and not Arab nations. Rome hired those from the Arab leg of the empire to help in the in the attack on Jerusalem.
ReplyDeleteOne other thing to consider is that Islam did not come around for a few hundred years after our Lord walked the Earth. There was no such thing as Islam at the fall of Jerusalem.
Folks,
ReplyDeleteGood points, thanks for your comments. Offering the information as food for thought.
May we remain alert and keep our lamps lit.
I see where John MacArthur also has done a sermon on this, supporting the Islamic Antichrist view. I don't know if it is so or no, and honestly don't care since it makes no difference to the Christian mandates. So if world events change yet again, is MacArthur (and all the others falling on this band wagon)going to see someone else being the antichrist? In 1992, he was convinced the antichrist was coming from Europe, revive Roman Empire: http://www.gty.org/Resources/Sermons/53-7
ReplyDeleteThis sorta of speculation (and changing ones view without acknowledged you were probably wrong the first time, spreads confusion.
Maybe this just proves that this is one of those areas that the Lord only knows 100% and it does not change our mandate to preach the Gospel and witness till He comes, regardless of who the antichrist is.
