SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- A 7.0-magnitude earthquake struck the Myanmar region at 8:25 p.m. Thursday local time, the U.S. Geological Survey said. The depth was recorded at 229 kilometers (142 miles) and the epicenter was 69 miles from Chiang Rai, Thailand.
