Once-in-150-Years Blood Moon that’s also Super Moon, Blue Moon, Lunar Eclipse and Tu B’Shvat

It’s going to be a packed Wednesday night for moon-loving earthlings of every persuasion, including the atheists among us – our silvery satellite will have something for everyone, for the first time since 1866.
First, Tuesday night and Wednesday mark the fifteenth day of the Jewish lunar month of Shvat, otherwise known as Tu B’Shvat, the new year for trees. Tu B’Shvat as the cut-off date for calculating the age of a tree until it is permissible to eat its fruits in its fourth year. If the tree were planted before Tu B’Shvat, that time counts as one year by the time to holiday arrives – even if we planted it one day before the new year. Other commandments also depend on Tu B’Shvat, but they involve bringing the first fruit as sacrifice in the Temple.

The blood moon prophecy was a set of apocalyptic beliefs pushed by Christian ministers John Hagee and Mark Biltz, who suggested that the Tetrad—four consecutive lunar eclipses coinciding on Jewish holidays with six full moons in between, and no intervening partial lunar eclipses, which began with the April 2014 lunar eclipse—was a sign of the beginning of the end of times as described in the Book of Joel 3:4. The Christian biblical translations misplace this prophecy, a reference to which appears in two New Testament books. The following is a translation of the original Hebrew text, Joel 3, verses 1-5:
“After this, I will pour out my Spirit on all of humanity, your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions. And also on male and female slaves in those days I will pour out my Spirit. I will show wonders in the sky and on earth – blood, fire and columns of smoke.
“The sun will be turned into darkness and the moon into blood before the coming of God’s great and terrible Day.
“At that time, whoever calls the name of God will escape, for on Mount Zion and Jerusalem there will be refugees, as God has promised: among the survivors will be those whom God has called.”
The Hagee and Biltz Tetrad ended with the lunar eclipse on September 27-28, 2015, and a year later, in November 2016, the world began to change, possibly. Or not – you decide. Prophecies are very flexible.
Finally, Wednesday also offers a Blue Moon, which is a strictly solar-calendar event: a blue moon is an additional full moon that appears in a given month of the common calendar. According to American astronomer Phil Plait, the term has traditionally referred to an “extra” full moon, where a year which normally has 12 full moons gets 13 instead. The “blue moon” reference is applied to the third full moon in a season with four full moons, thus correcting the timing of the last month of a season that would have otherwise been expected too early. This happens every two to three years, with a total of seven times in the solar-lunar cycle of 19 years.
All of the above may remain invisible should the heavens be clouded over, for which we apologize in advance.

True Legends the Documentary Film Series - Episode 2: The UnHoly See
Are the forbidden secrets of the prehistoric past linked to the forthcoming events of the prophetic future? Is there a hidden hand confiscating and concealing artifacts relating to the world before the Flood of Noah and the hybrid entities that inhabited it? Are living giants still walking the earth today? Is the Vatican preparing for the arrival of “alien saviors”? In this fast-paced episode, Steve Quayle, Timothy Alberino and Tom Horn unveil the surprising answers to these compelling questions.
This full length feature film is packed with explosive content, including: testimony from an active duty pilot who handled and transported the body of a dead giant killed by U.S. Military operatives in the caves of Afghanistan; evidence of a vast subterranean world hidden beneath the surface of the earth; further proof that the megaliths belonged to the Pre-Flood Age; never-before revealed information concerning Zecharia Sitchin and the Anunnaki; and the unmasking of the Church of Rome, and the Vatican’s secret plan to resurrect the Golden Age and welcome from heaven the return of the ancient gods.

Magnitude 7.1 earthquake hits near the coast of central Peru

A very strong earthquake registered by the USGS as M7.1 (downgraded from M7.3) hit near the coast of central Peru at 09:18 UTC (04:18 local time) on Sunday, January 14, 2018. The agency is reporting a depth of 36.3 km (22.7 miles). EMSC is reporting M7.1 at a depth of 41 km (25.5 miles).
According to the USGS, the epicenter was located 25.7 km (15.9 miles) SSE of Lomas (population 0) and 73.7 km (45.8 miles) SSE of Minas de Marcona (population 15 468), Peru.
There are about 41 000 people living within 100 km (62 miles).
Some 6 000 people are estimated to have felt very strong shaking, 21 000 strong, 37 000 moderate and 497 000 weak.

Middle East's Christian population shrinks by 80% over the past ten years

Muslim Persecution of Christians, August 2017

...A document drafted by members of the global Christian community convening at the 3rd International Christian Forum, held in Moscow, detailed how over the past ten years the Middle East's Christian population has shrunk by 80% and warned that unless current trends are reversed, Christianity "will vanish" from its ancient homelands in a few years' time. Around the year 2000, there were 1.5 million Christians in Iraq; today there are only 100,000 -- roughly a 93% percent drop, the document notes. In Syria, the largest cities "have lost almost all of their Christian population."

Other experts offered similarly dismal statistics. The Center for the Study of Global Christianity at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Hamilton, Massachusetts, had predicted that by 2025, the percentage of Christians in the Middle East — which in 1910 was 13.6% — could go down to around 3%.

Quakes Rock Eastern & Western Hemispheres

8 earthquakes strike along Iran-Iraq border, rattle Baghdad

A series of eight earthquakes hit the Iran-Iraq border area and rattled Baghdad on Thursday, apparent aftershocks of a temblor that struck the mountainous region in November and killed over 530 people. Four people suffered minor injuries in Iran, state television reported.

The U.S. Geological Survey said seven of the quakes struck near the Iraqi city of Mandali, 120 kilometers (75 miles) northeast of the Iraqi capital. Mandali is right on the border between the two nations. The eighth hit near Mehran in western Iran, about 90 kilometers (55 miles) southeast of Mandali along the sparsely populated Zagros Mountains that divide Iran and Iraq.

7.6 magnitude earthquake shakes the Caribbean Sea

A magnitude 7.6 earthquake shook the Caribbean Sea early Tuesday night. The earthquake occurred west of Jamaica at a depth of 6.2 miles (10 km).
The earthquake triggered tsunami warnings for areas within 621 miles (1,000 km) of the quake's epicenter.
However, all tsunami advisories were canceled throughout the Caribbean and Central America later on Tuesday night.
No damage has been reported from this event, despite the high magnitude and several strong aftershocks.
“We have reports that it was felt in the majority of the country, but we don’t have reports of damage,” said Lizandro Rosales, director of Honduras’ contingencies commission.

Hazardous tsunami waves up to 3.3 feet (1 meter) above tide level were possible for some coasts of Honduras and Belize, according to the National Tsunami Warning Center (NTWC).
Smaller changes in sea levels were possible for other areas in the Caribbean, including Mexico, Cuba, Jamaica, Belize, Honduras and Cayman Islands.

Union of Muslim Clerics' Leader Calls for Jihad Against Jews

Sheikh Yousuf Al-Qaradawi Incites To Resistance, Jihad And Martyrdom Following Trump's Recognition Of Jerusalem As Israel's Capital

Following the announcement by U.S. President Donald Trump on December 6, 2017 recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, Sheikh Yousuf Al-Qaradawi posted several tweets and Facebook messages urging Muslims to fight for the liberation of Jerusalem with resistance and jihad, and praising "the honor of martyrdom," noting that he himself aspires to die as a martyr.

Al-Qaradawi, who heads the International Union of Muslim Clerics (IUMS) and is a prominent authority for the Muslim Brotherhood, also criticized Arabs who do not act on behalf of Jerusalem, came out against Arab normalization with Israel, and used antisemitic expressions to emphasize the hostility toward the Jews that he claims exists in Islam.

This is not the first time that Sheikh Al-Qaradawi has preached violence and jihad, and he has also long preached in favor of perpetrating suicide attacks. MEMRI has reported extensively on his extremist ideology, on the basis of which he calls for jihad and terror attacks. In 2001, for example, in response to a religious ruling by former Saudi mufti 'Abd Al-'Aziz Bin 'Abdallah Aal Al-Sheikh, who prohibited suicide attacks even against soldiers of a country occupying Muslim land, Al-Qaradawi stated that operations by Muslim suicide bombers were a legitimate form of resistance, "heroic acts of martyrdom and sacrifice," and one of the noblest kinds of jihad for the sake of Allah.

Salvation Belongs to the Lord

Jonah 2English Standard Version (ESV)

Jonah's Prayer

Then Jonah prayed to the Lord his God from the belly of the fish,saying,
“I called out to the Lord, out of my distress,
    and he answered me;
out of the belly of Sheol I cried,
    and you heard my voice.
For you cast me into the deep,
    into the heart of the seas,
    and the flood surrounded me;
all your waves and your billows
    passed over me.
Then I said, ‘I am driven away
    from your sight;
yet I shall again look
    upon your holy temple.’
The waters closed in over me to take my life;
    the deep surrounded me;
weeds were wrapped about my head
    at the roots of the mountains.
I went down to the land
    whose bars closed upon me forever;
yet you brought up my life from the pit,
    Lord my God.
When my life was fainting away,
    I remembered the Lord,
and my prayer came to you,
    into your holy temple.
Those who pay regard to vain idols
    forsake their hope of steadfast love.
But I with the voice of thanksgiving
    will sacrifice to you;
what I have vowed I will pay.
    Salvation belongs to the Lord!”
10 And the Lord spoke to the fish, and it vomited Jonah out upon the dry land.

The True Nature of Francis’s Pontificate

The Dictator Pope’ reveals Francis as ‘downright vindictive’: Catholic commentator

MASSACHUSETTS, December 19, 2017 (LifeSiteNews) – A leading American Catholic newsman and commentator has praised The Dictator Pope, the explosive new book that claims to reveal the “true nature of Francis’s pontificate,” for providing “a valuable service” to Catholics globally.
Phil Lawler, the editor of Catholic World News and director of Catholic Culture, praised the book for its “valuable insights” into Pope Francis character.
“The most valuable service provided by the author of The Dictator Pope is the psychological portrait of the Pope,” Lawler wrote in Catholic World Report. The book reveals “a man who follows in the footsteps of Juan Peron, the demagogic Argentine political leader of young Bergoglio’s formative years.”
“Manipulative, hypersensitive, and often downright vindictive, Pope Francis is certainly not the cheerful populist that his supporters make him out to be,” he wrote.

Dictator Pope: New scandal hits Rome

Time is running out for the ‘Dictator Pope’ as a new scandal hits Rome

Damian Thompson

Cardinal Oscar Maradiaga of Honduras, one of the most influential figures in the Catholic Church, has been accused of receiving hundreds of thousands of dollars from a Catholic university in his ceremonial role as its chancellor – and of investing more than $1.2 million in London financial companies, some of which has now allegedly vanished.
These claims form part of a set of spectacularly damaging but unproven allegations by the widely read Italian media outlet L’Espresso. You can read the report here; it also speculates about a ‘close and unseemly relationship’ between a bishop close to Maradiaga and a mysterious man apparently posing as a priest.
The accusations are a disaster for Pope Francis, recently the subject of a book called The Dictator Pope which portrays him – not necessarily fairly – as an ruthless opportunist who turns a blind eye to wrongdoing by members of his inner circle. In last week’s Holy Smoke Spectator podcast, I discussed it with two leading Catholic commentators. You can find the podcast here and also at the bottom of this blog post.
