Earthquake: 3.4 quake strikes near Coalinga
A shallow magnitude 3.4 earthquake was reported Friday morning 15 miles from Coalinga, Calif., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 7:07 a.m. PST at a depth of 6.2 miles.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was 20 miles from Avenal, 23 miles from Paso Robles and 32 miles from Atascadero.
In the past 10 days, there have been three earthquakes magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
