Others have noted that quakes on one side of the earth may cause quakes 180 degrees from the original event.
Example: Follow the lines of longitude... The region East of the Mississippi runs between the longitudinal lines of the region of China & Phillipines. Central America on the rim of this section has been active, perhaps mirroring the Indonesian region.
