We have read few people's letters ,stating their reasons why they refused Rick Warren's invitation. Now we have those who went there , are talking about their experience in Saddleback. Can somebody tell me which one has done the right thing ? Those who refused to go, or those who accepted Rick Warren's invitation ?Unfortunately there are many in apologetics world who have wraped themselves around "The politically correct mentlity " that nobady wants to say anything .And even if they say ,they will tell each other that "I refused to go ,I was right " and "you accepted the invitation , so you were right too " You are right , I am right , he is right too , SOMEHOW everybody is right ..oh yeah ..tell me about it .
Our apologetics have become doctors who can not diagnose any problem, untill it has become a terminal illness . With all websites , newsletters, conferances , seminars etc, still there is lack of insight to see that someone is lacking necessary spiritual essence,or is walking towards wrong direction, until that author of many books starts to endorse mystical books. Or they never notice anything until their superstar shakes hands with mormons and makes a half truth speech in mormon temple. Then one day they hear that he has prayed in public without mentioning the name of Jesus.Maybe majority think that maybe "God is using him in that way".The same has happened here . 2 people have ACCEPTED Rick warren's invitation thinking they can do something positive if they go to Saddleback. Majority of our Apologetics specialists do not know what is happening until somebody stands up and says for example " I don't beleive that Jesus is the only way ' then and only then they discern that the person who denies Jesus is wrong .......WOW , what a powerful discernment

  2. Tom,

Here's my perspective to the valid points you raise...

    Two Witnesses Appear at Saddleback

As a “victim” of the PDL dismemberment program referred to by James Sundquist,I respectfully wish to share a few thoughts:

The list of Warren’s invitees represents faithful Contenders of the Faith in this very dark hour. The meeting did raise legitimate concern for many observers, and I appreciate that Pastor Bob and Chris Rosebrough are publically sharing their perspectives of the experience.

Interesting to see that only TWO WITNESSES of the God of the Bible made the meeting. TWO WITNESSES who contend for the faith, and spoke the Truth in love.

“Where two or more are gathered, there I will be in their midsts”. Many recognize this verse as Christ’s establishing the concept of loving correction and discipline within the body of Christ.

That’s what seemed to have had occured at this meeting. TWO WITNESSES were sent to warn a king. Those who declined the invitation and those who did not acted on their convictions. These convictions and subsequent choices deserve respect. I would be afraid for these TWO WITNESSES if they felt convicted to attend, and failed to do so.

Oh that God is so merciful to continue to extend multiple opportunities for us all to repent, including Rick Warren and the thousands of pastors who are blinded by this movement.

Thank you Pastor Bob DeWaay & Chris Rosebrough for your courage, faithfulness and your witness at Saddleback. The Trumpet has been sounded again, only the Lord knows if it will be the last chance for Saddleback to repent.

Thank you to all the ministries referenced here that work tirelessly to pull others from the fire ( I was one )by the proclaiming the Truth of God’s Word.
