California's State Sponsored Religion Initiative

In the pursuit of addressing the urgent and critical mental health issues that threaten the youth of society, the California Institute for Mental Health (CiMH) is co-sponsoring The 2009 Northern California Mental Health & Spirituality Conference .

Purpose:

To increase awareness of spirituality as a potential resource in mental health prevention, early intervention, and recovery.

To encourage collaboration among faith-based organizations, mental health services providers, consumers and families in combating stigma and reducing disparities in access to services for diverse populations.

Workshops include:
  • Mental Health Spirituality and Faith
    Honoring Spirituality, Religion and Cultural Diversity
    Spirituality in Wellness & Recovery
    Family Issues, Spirituality, Mental Health
    Spirituality and Treatment Issues
    Social Justice Issues

...experience new body-mind-spirit practices for self-care and helping others , learn about diverse cultural/religious traditions.

...participate in a groundbreaking event that will showcase
California’s Mental Health and Spirituality Statewide Initiative.
