Our Lady of the Sierras: Pilgrims come to Southern Arizona to hear Virgin Mary 'speak'
By Tom Beal ARIZONA DAILY STAR Tucson, Arizona Published: 12.21.2008
Horacio Soria Salazar didn't expect a miracle. Soria is a rational man, a mathematician, a former university president and secretary of education in the Mexican border state of Sonora.
He was a Sunday Catholic when prostate cancer moved him to ramp up his prayer regimen.
He had sought medical help, had the prostate removed. The cancer came back.
He and his wife and some friends journeyed to Our Lady of the Sierras shrine in the foothills of the Huachuca Mountains. They had heard about a woman named Pat who spoke regularly to the Virgin Mary, mother of Jesus. Soria thought that connection to a higher power might be helpful.
Soria prayed with Pat and she relayed what she called a message from the Virgin Mary that his body was being healed. His cancer vanished and hasn't returned in two years.
Learn how miraculous signs and wonders can come from an angel of light and still not be of God.

I have been a hypnotherapist for a number of years and time and time again I am amazed by the power of the mind. If we look at our system of medical treatments we notice that the process is Bio-Chemical in nature. The doctor gives us a medication to treat the symptoms of our disorder and if all goes well the medications helps us live with our disorder until our body heals itself. There are of course exceptions to this process in the use of Surgeries. But for the most part the body heals itself unless the damage is to serious
ReplyDeleteDear Anonymous,
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comments. Truly the human mind represents more mystery than revelation.
Healings associated with the apparitions around the world have a common thread of an external force acting upon the individual, as opposed the individual acting upon himself ( healing of self ).
The dynamics of spiritual forces manifesting themselves in our physical world acting on the individual seems to put these experiences in a different catagory.
You mentioned surgeries... To illustrate the point, may I suggest the book, The Beautiful Side of Evil by Johanna Michaelsen.
The dynamics of external spiritual forces, healing and faith are illustrated in this biography.
