Virginia Baptist Mission Board (BGAV) Accepts Homosexuality In The Name of Diversity - Part II
DOWN WITH SOLA SCRIPTURA!
During the converstation with the VBMB representative, Joe and Don shared the video below to highlight their concerns about Tony Campolo's theological and political views.
Joe states:
To drive our concern-point home, I played a video of Mr. Campolo stating on a news show that although he thought abortion was wrong, he would not , if he could, have it overturned, and that it was not an immediate concern as it was for others. He (Campolo) also exclaimed that homosexuals had rights and that HE would support them.
The VBMB representative assured us that he was aware Tony Campolo's controversial views. The VBMB rep could only say that he (Campolo) and others such as Rick Warren, Bill Hybels and others within our denomination, were welcome because we needed diversity (emphasis mine).

I'd really like to know how all these churches, of all different denominations, can think they are doing right in the Lord's eyes?!
ReplyDeleteDo these people actually beleive that they can do whatever it is that their human desires wish?
I do think that they can do whatever it is that they want to, behind closed doors (as they will be the one to be judged on their judgement day), but, to openly carry on and ask/preach to their congregations? Where's their morality? And how can people accept this behavior? Why are the people allowing it?
I am guessing that they are falling short when it comes to being true to their faith!
I pray that the Lord will open their eyes and their ears to see His word. Amen.
Families with active homosexuality are putting them before God. Jesus says he came to devide families, if they are in conflict with his word.
ReplyDeleteHosting Tony Compolo at a meeting does not mean that a Baptist entity, or any other denominational grouping is giving tacet approval to everything that the speaker says or even stands for, regardless of how controversial. Though I don't agree with everything Dr. Compolo says, I am convinced that his strong stance on loving the world unconditionally (yes even the Iranians)is something all of us need to take to heart. In addition to praying for homosexuals, what would happen if we befriended them? What a difference that would make. I recommend the book UnChristian. It makes some wonderful points about the willingness of today's Christians to love people regardless of how we feel about their beliefs. God will judge Pharisees too!
