The Kremlin has published its priorities for an upcoming G20 Summit calling for the creation of a supranational reserve currency to be issued by international institutions as a part of a reform for the global financial system.
At the same time, China's central bank proposed replacing the US dollar as the international reserve currency with a new global system controlled by the International Monetary Fund with a goal to create a reserve currency that is disconnected from individual nations.
Both Beijing and Moscow fear the actions taken to save the domestic US economy would have a negative impact on China and Russia and both countries believe this new global currency could correct the global economic crisis as well.
