The Scientific Revolution has been tethered with spiritual implications that are diametrically opposed to the Biblical record of creation and the existence of God.

Alfred Tennyson (1809-1892) honored as "the greatest poet of our generation, perhaps of our century" captured the cultural tumult of the scientific & the biblical conflict in his famous elegy "In Memoriam". Tennyson wrestled with pressures of synthesizing his faith in light of the new scientific discoveries of his day.

Now, in the new millenium, the world's largest man made machine, the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is about to recreate a micro-version of the Big Bang. This theory is what many believe birthed the physical universe.

What about the big bang? What of the creation account of the Bible? Will fascinating discoveries at the LHC cause the next level of techno-synthesis of faith? Will man's deconstruction of creation cause a reconstruction of the Creator in the minds of men?

For those who are of the opinion the research at the CERN LHC has nothing to do with spirituality, one should consider the facility's statue of the Indian deity Shiva Nataraja, the Lord of Dance. The statue, symbolizing Shiva's cosmic dance of creation and destruction.
