Catholic 'Miracle' Shrine Attracts Buddhists, Hindus

From Indian Catholic.com

MARAWILA, Sri Lanka (UCAN) -- A reported miracle cure at a coastal shrine 60 years ago launched a devotion that continues to draw tens of thousands of people to celebrate the shrine's annual feast day.

More than 150,000 Buddhists, Catholics and Hindus came to the shrine of the Holy Cross, situated in the middle of a cemetery near the town of Marawila, on Sept. 14, feast day of the Holy Cross. The shrine, a simple structure open on two sides with a large crucifix, sits about 50 kilometers north of Colombo. It belongs to Our Lady of Presentation Parish in Marawila.
