A puffing volcano in Papua New Guinea has forced a local airport to abandon operations.
A rumbling crater means hundreds of people have not been able to leave, or fly into East New Britain province.
Ever since the huge eruption in 1994, Mt Tavurvur has continually spewed ash, smoke and rocks from its crater.
A north-west wind is pushing plumes of thick black smoke in the direction of Tokua airport 20 kilometres away.
Air Niugini has cancelled all flights to Tokua until further notice because of the danger the ash poses to aircraft engines.
