Peggy Campolo: Gay Christians Can't Wait Any Longer

From The Associated Baptist Press
Peggy Campolo, is an advocate for civil rights and full inclusion in the church for her lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender sisters and brothers. She is the wife of Baptist author and Eastern University professor Tony Campolo.

I am a committed Baptist who has worked within the church of Jesus Christ for more than 20 years to foster the understanding and acceptance of my gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender sisters and brothers - I'll just say "gay" for shorthand. I can personally testify to the anguish gay people feel when rejected by church and family because of who they are. I have also witnessed the joy of the many gay people I know who have found church homes where they are loved and accepted...

...However, we must also find a way to end the exclusion and anguish of God's gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender children NOW.

See Mr. Tony Campolo's views and theology here . For friends and family who know of individuals trapped in alternate lifestyles, encourage them to visit Stephen Bennett Ministries. Stephen Bennett is living proof of freedom from the bondage of homosexuality by saving grace of God.

  1. certain persons have crept in unnoticed, those who were long beforehand marked out for this condemnation, ungodly persons who turn the grace of our God into licentiousness and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ. Jude 4

  2. First of all I would like to say that maybe we should we the red letters of the bible and realze Jesus never mentioned Homosexuality as a sin and the word Homosexual was not coined til about the 13th century. Maybe instead of raising so much money to throw down gay marriage the church could take that money and end homelessness and starvation in america. Im a gay man who is a Christ Follower. and just to note its not even in any commandment Jesus ever gave or that God gave in the new testement. I wonder what Jesus would do if he we here in the flesh. Well I know one thing he wouldn't be concerned about this. He would be loving the World and feeding the poor and taking in the outcast.

  3. Love thy neighbor and judge not. Worry about the plank in your own eye before trying to remove the speck from another. You guys are the reason so many reject Christianity. I pray that your heardened hearts are softened by God and that you will beg for forgiveness for your unloving nature.

  4. After many years in ministry I noticed something disturbing happening in the context of the modern church. We have to a great extent, ceased reaching people for Christ and begun "Christianizing" the people around us. Revealing God's Grace through the faith in Christ has been replaced by screening people for eligibility for salvation. We who call ourselves the Body of Christ should be ashamed of ourselves.
