IRAN: Popular Uprisings Imminent in Saudi Arabia

Deputy FM: Popular Uprisings Imminent in Saudi Arabia TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Parliamentary and Expatriates Affairs Hassan Qashqavi cautioned that the Riyadh government should wait for an escalation of popular uprisings in the country.

"Popular uprisings will spread to Saudi Arabia in future and the Saudi government cannot stop the people by appeasing or suppressing them," Qashqavi said Sunday night. Qashqavi said Riyadh has a weak and bad foreign policy record, reminding Saudi Arabia's interference and military intervention in the internal affairs of such other regional countries as Yemen and Bahrain and its measures against the Palestinian people.

"The Saudi regime showed its real face through supplying fuel to the Zionist regime's fighter jets and supporting the regime's measures for destroying the (Palestinian) Resistance," Qashqavi said. Saudi Arabia has deployed more than 1,000 troops in Bahrain to help the Manama government crush anti-government protests in the Persian Gulf island.
