Twenty 5.0+ Magnitude Quakes Over Last Three Days

Twenty 5.0+ magnitude quakes since Sunday, July 18, 2010, the day that four 6.0+ quakes were recorded, including a 7.3 quake.

The Western hemisphere experienced 178 quake events over last seven days (as of 0700 hrs EST), 69 events were 4.0 magnitude or greater, or 39% of the hemisphere's activity.

The Western hemisphere experienced 79% of the global earthquake activity during this period.



The Eastern hemisphere experienced 48 events of the same time period, however 44 events or 92% of the hemisphere's quakes were 4.0 magnitude or greater.

The Eastern hemisphere experienced 21% of the global quake activity for this time period.

Volcanologist John Seach has been tracking the recent volcanic activity in Iceland, Guatemala , Hawaii, Indonesia and The Solomon Islands.

Global quake / volcanic activity is on the rise. With this increase, regions that may have been dormant are at strong risk of awakening.
