Google's list of 20 Active Volcanos, week of: 30 December-5 January 2010. The Western United States and the Soloman islands are the only portions of the Pacific Ring of Fire that did not have earthquake and volcanic activity, though Mt. Redoubt in Alaska has been stirring.
The Solomon islands were rocked with 7 quakes, (7.2 mag the largest) and a tsunami on January 4, 2010. Several active volcanoes exist in the area as well
Are this week's quakes off the coast of northern California harbingers of volcanic activity for the west region of the United States?
