UN & Vatican: Peacebuilding - A Role for Religion

The Vatican's office at the United Nations recently hosted a panelist discussion on...

"At a time when the UN is giving new attention to peacebuilding, including the role of religion in promoting reconciliation, this panel will consider the spectrum of peacebuilding initiatives of the Catholic Church around the world and lessons learned from its peacebuilding work, especially in the Great Lakes region of Africa..."

Editor's note: The letter "P" in Rick Warren's P.E.A.C.E. plan once stood for " Plant churches". Now it stands for "Promote reconciliation". Warren also agrees that the global faith sector is critical to the heavily touted "three-legged stool" of global cooperation between governments, business and churches to solve the world's problems.

It looks like it may be only a matter of time before Warren is addressing the United Nations himself.

See more on Warren's free enterprise and ecumenical P.E.A.C.E. plan and it's remarkable resemblance to the United Nations' Millennium Development goals.
