Thousands Flee California Wildfires

The Press Association: Thousands of US residents north of Sacramento, California, have been told to flee after erratic winds blew embers across wildfire containment lines, the latest setback for already strained fire crews.

Disaster News Network: More than 13,000 people who live in this city in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains have either been told to leave their homes or to be prepared to evacuate.
