JOINING GOD IN GLOBAL TRANSFORMATION

Youth Specialities CORE 2008 Generation Change Youth Conference is "calling students to change their world" and to Generate Hope, Peace, Love, Change, A new mind, A new heart, A new me, Justice. The plenary sessions include:

How does Youth Specialties suggest we listen to God?

          1. Get comfortable, sitting, and close your eyes. Focus on your breathing for a few minutes to get your attention, and ask God to speak to you. You might have a specifi c subject you want God to speak to you about, or you might leave it open. Then be quiet and wait. You may have a thought or a sense or an idea that you can tell came from God.

          2. Then say (in your mind, not out loud) the first half of the prayer while taking a breath in, and the second half of the prayer while breathing out. It’s the idea of breathing in Jesus, and breathing out our sin. - 1&2 From My Faith by Marko a downloadable resource at the Core website.

          3. ...being flexible as only youth workers can by connecting with others in meaningful conversation and participating in a Lectio Divina experience that one of our staff (Jamie Roach) led from the gospel of Luke.

Editor's note: Today's youth indoctrinated into the good works of the social gospel and the practice of mysticism. This is becoming a recurring theme in religious circles, all for the global good, but at the great risk of eternal destruction.

How can you generate the changes itemized in the introductory paragraph? Only through the blood of Christ, repentance and by the sanctification of the Holy Spirit as the believer learns to mortify the flesh and live the exchanged life as a new creation in Christ. But you won't find that at the Core Conference. But you'll find it in the Bible and at a God-fearing congregation that teaches the whole counsel of God for the equipping of the saints to the glory of God.
