Typhoon Trami to slam Japan

Powerful Typhoon Trami to slam Japan with life-threatening impacts

By Eric Leister, AccuWeather senior meteorologist
September 28, 2018, 11:28:57 AM EDT

Trami will threaten lives and property as it slams the Ryukyu Islands and barrels into mainland Japan with destructive winds, flooding rain and an inundating storm surge through Monday.

The powerful typhoon is currently equal to a Category 3 major hurricane in the Atlantic or East Pacific oceans and expected to hold that intensity through the weekend.

Residents should be making the necessary precautions to protect themselves and property against the dangerous typhoon. Those living in coastal communities and in flood-prone areas should pay attention to local authorities and heed evacuation orders.

"Time is running out for preparations in the Ryukyu Islands," said AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Kristina Pydynowski.

At this time, all locations in Japan are at risk for impacts from Trami in the coming days.

"Trami remains on track to blast the Ryukyu Islands through Sunday morning, with mainland Japan bracing for the blow Sunday into Monday," Pydynowski said.

A powerful earthquake rocked the Indonesian island of Sulawesi around 5 p.m. local time on Friday.
The earthquake was initially measured at a magnitude of 7.5 by the United States Geological Survey (USGS). About 10 minutes later, another quake struck the area, this one registering as a magnitude of 5.8.

dmco earthquake 9/28

Just after 8 p.m., a spokesperson for the BMKG confirmed that a tsunami occurred along a shoreline of Palu.
Houses were reportedly swept away and families are reported missing following the tsunami, according to the AP. The 3-meter (10-foot) -tall tsunami impacted at least two cities, disrupting communication and power to the area.
An official with Akris, the local disaster agency, said that many houses collapsed due to the powerful evening earthquake.

BREAKING: Viganò releases new ‘testimony’ responding to Pope’s silence

ROME, September 27, 2018 (LifeSiteNews) — Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò has today issued a new extraordinary testimony, responding to Pope Francis’ refusal to answer the charge that he knew of Cardinal Theodore McCarrick’s sexual abuse, yet made McCarrick “one of his principal agents in governing the Church.”
In the four-page document (see below), the former Apostolic Nuncio to the United States also responds to the Pope’s recent homilies which seem to cast himself in the role of Christ and Viganò as the diabolical “Great Accuser.”
“Has Christ perhaps become invisible to his vicar? Perhaps is he being tempted to try to act as a substitute of our only Master and Lord?” Archbishop Viganò asks in the new statement, sent to LifeSiteNews today.

MIDDLE EAST TENSIONS RISING

TRUNEWS

The Situation In The Skies Over Syria Is Getting Much More Intense While Iran Is Vowing To Respond To Last Weekend’s Terror Attack.

In the wake of the Israeli involvement in the downing of a Russian surveillance aircraft over Syria and a terrorist attack on an Iranian military parade, tensions are rapidly tightening in the Middle East.
With regard to the downing of the Russian Ilyushin Il-20 surveillance plane, The Israeli security cabinet met “urgently” early this morning to discuss the matter, delaying Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s departure for New York City, where he is now attending the opening of the UN General Assembly. Following the meeting, Netanyahu said the Israel Defense Forces will continue to “carry on operations to prevent Iran from establishing a military foothold in Syria,” adding those efforts will be coordinated with Russia.

Israel: The Jordanian King Calls for Two State Solution

TRUNEWS

"...The king said that every UN resolution regarding Palestine “since the beginning of the crisis” has recognized the equal rights of the Palestinian people with regard to a future of peace, dignity, and hope. He said this forms the “heart of the two-state settlement,” which he argues is the “only path to a comprehensive, lasting peace.”

He continued:

“Only a two-state solution based on international law and relevant UN resolutions can meet the needs of both sides: an end to conflict, a viable, independent, sovereign Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, and a secure Israel, fully part of its own region, recognized by Arab and Muslim states around the world.

“Arab and Muslim countries are committed to a comprehensive peace; the Arab Peace Initiative has been on offer for more than 16 years. Indeed, every major country in the world, the UN, the European Union, all have worked to help the parties reach a durable peace that can last. The US administration has long been committed to peace, and has a leading role in our progress going forward."

Far From Rome, Near To God

Worldwide interest in all things Catholic mixes with consternation over recent disclosures from within the Catholic Church. Amid doctrinal and moral confusion, most issues remain unanalyzed and unexplained, leaving both Catholics and non-Catholics wondering where the Roman Catholic Church really stands. This book leaves no doubt about the truthful answer.
Author Richard Bennett spent forty-eight years in Catholicism and twenty-two as a priest. Well qualified to explain the official Catholic position on Biblical issues and to discuss how that teaching is lived out in daily life, he addresses the 21st century issues of Catholicism with candor, speaking to both mind and heart. Each topic is carefully documented. Read the latest review of the book is by Dr. Peter Masters of Spurgeon's Metropolitan Tabernacle London UK Dr. Peter Masters .

Richard's Bennett's first book continues to be most popular Far from Rome, Near to God: The Testimonies of Fifty Converted Catholic Priests
The book contains the moving testimonies of fifty Catholic priests who found their way, by the grace of God, out of the labyrinth of Roman Catholic theology and practice into the light of the gospel of Christ. It is now easily available at Light House Trails, for details just click on the book.

Many Christians think that the Christian tradition of communion is the same as the Catholic tradition of the Eucharist. But this is not so. The Eucharist (i.e., Transubstantiation ), a Catholic term for communion when the bread and the wine actually become the very body and blood of Jesus Christ, thus when taken the partaker supposedly experiences the presence of God. These transformed elements are placed in what is called a monstrance and can then be worshipped as if worshipping God Himself. The implications are tied in with salvation.
With the Eucharist, salvation becomes sacramental (participation in a ritual) as opposed to justification by faith in Christ alone. While this mystical experience called the Eucharist is a form of idolatry (as well as the very heart of Catholicism), there appears to be an increase of interest by evangelical Christians towards this practice.
In Roger Oakland's vital book, Another Jesus?: The Eucharistic Christ and the New Evangelization, he warns about this growing deception within Christendom. Explaining that Eucharist Adoration (worshipping the sacraments as if they were Jesus Himself) is expected of all Catholics, many evangelicals seem to find no offense in such a doctrine.

What Every Catholic Should Know

Berean Beacon

Every good Catholic wants to please God in this present life and, when life on earth is over, hopes to live with Him forever. It is a noble goal based on personal beliefs about God and how to know Him.

However, noble intentions and personal beliefs about God do not guarantee results—or eternal life.

I urge you to do what I did after 22 years as a Dominican priest: make sure your beliefs have a solid foundation in the Bible. These questions will help you do that.

Whose word is truth?

The Catholic Church teaches…

The Pope’s word is truth.

“The Supreme Pontiff, in virtue of his office, possesses infallible teaching authority…” (Canon 749*).

The written Word of God is the sure foundation for saving faith. Therefore, since salvation and the Scriptures are inseparable, the issue is of supreme importance. One who counts on the power and fidelity of God shall be confident that he will receive the things He has promised. Thus, it is that:

The Bible teaches…

Every word of God is true.

Jesus prayed to God His Father, “Consecrate them in the truth. Your word is truth” (John 17:17).

Beheading The Resisters

Though the video addresses Catholics, anyone who opposes homosexuality or abortion is a potential target of the radical left...

Ireland: Abortion services will be free, Harris confirms

Ireland's imminent abortion services will be completely free to ensure they can be fully accessed by anyone who needs them, end the need to travel abroad for care and to prevent an influx of private abortion clinics into this country.
Health Minister Simon Harris confirmed the new services will not cost anything just 24 hours after President Michael D Higgins signed the referendum result into law, thereby formally removing the eighth amendment from the constitution.
Speaking to reporters at the opening of the new primary care centre in Grangegorman, Dublin, Mr Harris said that even though abortion services are set to be provided in the near future it is essential "cost is not a barrier" to accessing the medical help.
Asked specifically if he will introduce any charge to receive abortions in legislation due to be passed by cabinet next week and put to the Dáil in the first week of October, Mr Harris confirmed no fees will be involved.
The Health Minister said the move is needed, saying that if a price tag was linked to accessing abortion services it would encourage private abortion clinics into Ireland and lead to women continuing to travel abroad for the care they need.
"Yes, it is my intention that the services will be free," Mr Harris confirmed.

The Pope Should Be Preaching Against This Plastic

After posting Pope, Plastic and Pedofiles, James Sunquist of Rock Salt Publishing reached to share the following:

Dear Watcher’s Lamp,

It is interesting that the word “Plastic” is in your your title:

Plastic is used to perform an abortion. Proof:

"The rods may also be put in a few days prior to the procedure. When the cervix is wide enough, a cannula, which is a long plastic tube connected to a suction device, is inserted into the uterus to suction out the fetus and placenta.” http://americanpregnancy.org/unplanned-pregnancy/surgical-abortions/

The Pope needs to be more concerned about the plastic used to perform an abortion than the plastic tubes (straws) thrown into the ocean.

Blessings,

James

James shared this powerful song / video, Cry of The Innocent.

Cry of the children ©Therese Goodwin, Australia. A cry has gone out to the sons of men A cry from the throne of God What have you done with my little one’s Where have they gone I hear the cry of a child A cry of a million children I created the beauty on their faces Now all I see is pain Come up here you men and women What is that on your hands The colour of crimson You spread death throughout our land You have taken the right to live Out of my hand, do you realise what you’ve done Many a child of blessing Has never seen the sun. Yes they live with me they will live forevermore And before you they shall stand On the day of judgement To condemn you sinful man So arise you, who would repent of your sin, For I’ll forgive you if you will turn aside For the cry of the children has come to my ears And my face from them I will not hide. Pope Sells Out Churches to Chinese Communists

Pope Francis to allow Chinese communists to select bishops in forthcoming Vatican/Beijing deal

ROME, September 18, 2018 (LifeSiteNews) – A deal between the Vatican and Beijing reportedly to be signed by the end of the month signals Rome’s abandonment of China’s Catholics just as the communist regime is brutally cracking down on religious freedom, warn critics.
Under the terms of the “landmark” agreement, Beijing will recognize the Pope as the head of the Catholic Church in China, and the Holy See will give Beijing control over appointing bishops, the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported Friday.
The deal could still be derailed by unforeseen circumstances, the WSJ reported.
In the deal, first floated in February, the Vatican will also formally recognize and consecrate seven excommunicated “bishops” the Chinese state appointed to the government-run Catholic Patriotic Church and whom the Vatican rejected at that time.
Moreover, Pope Francis will order two bishops of the underground Church “who have faithfully served for decades under intense persecution, to hand over their dioceses to bishops appointed by the Communist authorities,” notes China expert Steve Mosher.
“Shantou Bishop Zhuang Jianjian has been ordered to retire, a decision that hascaused enormous pain to the local Church, while Mindong Bishop Guo Xijin has been told that he will be made an ‘auxiliary’ of the Shantou diocese he has long headed,” Mosher wrote in OnePeterFive.
Bishop Zhuang, who has been imprisoned and tortured by the Chinese government, reportedly burst into tears upon hearing the news in February that he would have to hand over his flock to a schismatic, state-appointed bishop.

Pope, Priests and Predators

Anyone who blames abuse crisis on ‘clericalism’ is part of the abuse crisis cover-up: Psychiatrist

"...Homosexual predation

The recent Pennsylvania Grand Jury Report helps to clarify the origins of the sexual harassment of youth.  It identifies 73% of the victims as being subjected to homosexual predation.
This finding is also consistent with the reports of the sexual harassment by Archbishop McCarrick of children, teenagers, young adults and adults.
Again, this finding is consistent with my clinical experience as a psychiatrist over the past forty years in treating priest abusers.  In every case I knew of sexual involvement with children or adolescents, the perpetrator had previously been involved in adult homosexual relationships."
The Pennsylvania Grand Jury Report notably identifies the sexual harassment of children, teenagers and adults as “homosexual predation of children, teenagers and adults by an adult male.”  It specifically did not use the terms of the John Jay report of pedophilia for child abuse or of ephebophilia for adolescent-abusive acts.  Instead, the Pennsylvania Report clarified that a male’s engaging in sexually abusive behaviors toward another male is homosexual predation regardless of the age of the victim.

Clericalism

Pope Francis on August 20, 2018, stated that “clericalism” was the root cause of the sex abuse crisis in Pennsylvania.  He stated:
“Clericalism, whether fostered by priests themselves or by lay persons, leads to an excision in the ecclesial body that supports and helps to perpetuate many of the evils that we are condemning today. To say ‘no’ to abuse is to say an emphatic ‘no’ to all forms of clericalism.”
Clericalism has been described elsewhere as a “disordered attitude” toward clergy which often results in an “excessive deference and an assumption of their moral superiority.” Pope Francis has noted that such an attitude can be “fostered by priests themselves or by lay persons.”
Clericalism, however, does not result in a psychological need in a priest for a sexual encounter with another male, especially an adolescent.
The Holy Father did not acknowledge the role of homosexual predation among clergy in the Pennsylvania crisis."

Pope Goes Into Damage Control Mode

Council of Cardinals pledges ‘full solidarity’ to Pope who now faces abuse cover-up allegations

VATICAN CITY, September 11, 2018 (LifeSiteNews) – As the clerical sexual abuse scandal rages on, implicating even Pope Francis, the group of 9 cardinals which the pontiff has delegated to work with him on reform has expressed its “full solidarity” with the Pope.
According to yesterday’s Vatican press release, Francis’ special advisory group known as the Council of Cardinals expressed their loyalty to the Holy Father in the wake of allegations made by a former papal nuncio to the United States that he favored a disgraced American cardinal despite knowing of his sexual misconduct. Some of the cardinals who make up the council were named in Archbishop Carlo Viganò's report, including Cardinals Pietro Parolin, Sean O’Malley, and Rodriguez Maradiaga.
According to the declaration, the Council of Cardinals “expressed its full solidarity with Pope Francis with regard to the events of recent weeks, aware that in the current debate the Holy See is about to make the eventual and necessary clarifications.”
Last month Archbishop Viganò accused Pope Francis in a detailed 11 page documentof covering-up for now ex-Cardinal McCarrick despite being made aware of his sexual abuse of seminarians and priests. The Archbishop called on the Pope to resign. A day after news of the letter broke, Pope Francis told reporters that he was “not going to say a word” about the allegations. One bishop called the Pope’s response a “non-denial.”

Why is the pope keeping mum on Viganò?

Why is the pope keeping mum on Viganò?

John L. Allen Jr. Sept. 11, 2018
Crux Now
It’s been more than two weeks now since a former papal ambassador in the U.S. leveled his bombshell charge that Pope Francis knew about sexual misconduct allegations against ex-Cardinal Theodore McCarrick and ignored them, promoting that former ambassador to call on Pope Francis to resign.
Asked about that charge when it first appeared, Pope Francis vowed that “I won’t say a word,” suggesting that journalists look into it for themselves and draw their own conclusions.
Since that time, neither the pope nor the Vatican’s spokesmen have had anything to say about the accusation. Of course, that hasn’t stopped the pope’s biggest allies and fans from having plenty to say, most of it disparager toward the accuser and his supporter, but as far as official commentary goes, the silence has been deafening.

Is the Pope Marginalizing Decades of Institutional Sex Abuse?

Wow: In New Homily, Pope Francis Attacks the 'Great Accuser' for Maligning Church with Scandal

The Catholic Church is embroiled in another scandal of systemic sexual abuse, and some of the institution's top leaders are responding shockingly poorly.  Having been credibly accused of looking the other way on a former Cardinal's rampant misconduct and abuse, and even rehabilitating his standing by reducing previously-imposed sanctions against him, Pope Francis has pointedly declined to comment
On the papal plane after his second day in Ireland, Pope Francis declined to refute or confirm the allegations mentioned in the letter, urging the journalists aboard the plane only to consider the source and make their own judgment. “I will not say a single word about this,” Pope Francis said, adding that it “speaks for itself.”
Indeed it does.  To many victims and allies, the Pope's silence is galling.  As fissures emerge within the Church hierarchy, many in the media have sought to frame this story as an internal fight pitting doctrinal and cultural conservatives against a more progressive faction, of which Francis is the leader.  There is certainly some validity to that dynamic, but the internecine struggle among various clerical factions is far less important than the underlying moral crisis that represents a growing, malignant tumor on the Church.  Yet the Pope and others often appear to be treating it as little more than a public relations snafu that's being calculatingly inflamed by agenda-driven opponents -- rather than an unfolding catastrophe that's marring the Church with an indelible stain.  To wit, in a sermon this week, Francis admonished "the Great Accuser:"

5 States Are Investigating Sex Abuse in Catholic Church

5 States Are Investigating Potential Cover-Ups of Sex Abuse in Catholic Dioceses

By Sharon Otterman
Sept. 6, 2018

Newly emboldened attorneys general across the United States have begun to take an aggressive stance toward investigating sex abuse by Catholic clergy, examining whether church officials covered up malfeasance, issuing subpoenas for documents and convening special task forces.

On Thursday alone, the New York State attorney general issued subpoenas to all eight Roman Catholic dioceses in the state as part of a sweeping civil investigation into whether institutions covered up allegations of sexual abuse of children, officials said. The attorney general in New Jersey announced a similar investigation.

The new inquiries come several weeks after an explosive Pennsylvania grand jury report detailed the abuse of more than 1,000 children by hundreds of priests over decades. With Catholics clamoring for more transparency from their church, demanding that their bishops release the names of accused priests, civil authorities are beginning to step up to force disclosure.

In the three weeks since the release of the Pennsylvania report, the attorneys general of Illinois, Missouri and Nebraska have also announced that they intend to investigate sex abuse by Catholic priests in their states and have asked local dioceses for records. Most bishops have been saying they will cooperate.

A Vatican-Democratic Party Alliance?

A Vatican-Democratic Party Alliance? (Catholics Ask Trump Administration to Investigate)

Dear President Trump:
The campaign slogan “Make America Great Again,” resonated with millions of common Americans and your tenacity in pushing back against many of the most harmful recent trends has been most inspiring. We all look forward to seeing a continued reversal of the collectivist trends of recent decades.
Reversing recent collectivist trends will, by necessity, require a reversal of many of the actions taken by the previous administration.  Among those actions we believe that there is one that remains cloaked in secrecy.  Specifically, we have reason to believe that a Vatican “regime change” was engineered by the Obama administration.
We were alarmed to discover that, during the third year of the first term of the Obama administration your previous opponent, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and other government officials with whom she associated proposed a Catholic “revolution” in which the final demise of what was left of the Catholic Church in America would be realized.[1]  Approximately a year after this e-mail discussion, which was never intended to be made public, we find that Pope Benedict XVI abdicated under highly unusual circumstances and was replaced by a pope whose apparent mission is to provide a spiritual component to the radical ideological agenda of the international left. [2] The Pontificate of Pope Francis has subsequently called into question its own legitimacy on a multitude of occasions. [3]
During the 2016 presidential campaign we were astonished to witness Pope Francis actively campaigning against your proposed policies concerning the securing of our borders, and even going so far as to suggest that you are not a Christian [4].  We appreciated your prompt and pointed response to this disgraceful accusation [5].

We remain puzzled by the behavior of this ideologically charged Pope, whose mission seems to be one of advancing secular agendas of the left rather than guiding the Catholic Church in Her sacred mission.  It is simply not the proper role of a Pope to be involved in politics to the point that he is considered to be the leader of the international left.

Pope Failied to Act on McCarrick’s Abuse

Pope Francis of Failing to Act on McCarrick’s Abuse
In a written testimony, Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò claims Pope Francis withdrew sanctions against Archbishop Theodore McCarrick.
In an extraordinary 11-page written testament, a former apostolic nuncio to the United States has accused several senior prelates of complicity in covering up Archbishop Theodore McCarrick’s allegations of sexual abuse, and has claimed that Pope Francis knew about sanctions imposed on then-Cardinal McCarrick by Pope Benedict XVI but chose to repeal them.
Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò, 77, who served as apostolic nuncio in Washington D.C. from 2011 to 2016, said that in the late 2000s, Benedict had “imposed on Cardinal McCarrick sanctions similar to those now imposed on him by Pope Francis” and that Viganò personally told Pope Francis about those sanctions in 2013.
Archbishop Viganò said in his written statement, simultaneously released to the Register and other media, (see full text below) that Pope Francis “continued to cover” for McCarrick and not only did he “not take into account the sanctions that Pope Benedict had imposed on him” but also made McCarrick “his trusted counselor.”  Viganò said that the former archbishop of Washington advised the Pope to appoint a number of bishops in the United States, including Cardinals Blase Cupich of Chicago and Joseph Tobin of Newark.
