For the next few days, risk of big earthquake along San Andreas fault is as high as 1 in 100

The rumbling started Monday morning deep under the Salton Sea. A rapid succession of small earthquakes — three measuring above magnitude 4.0 — began rupturing near Bombay Beach, continuing for more than 24 hours. Before the swarm started to fade, more than 200 earthquakes had been recorded.
The temblors were not felt over a very large area, but they have garnered intense interest — and concern — among seismologists. It marked only the third time since earthquake sensors were installed there in 1932 that the area had seen such a swarm, and this one had more earthquakes than the events of 2001 and 2009.
The quakes occurred in one of California’s most seismically complex areas. They hit in a seismic zone just south of where the mighty San Andreas fault ends. It is composed of a web of faults that scientists fear could one day wake up the nearby San Andreas from its long slumber.
The San Andreas fault’s southernmost stretch has not ruptured since about 1680 — more than 330 years ago, scientists estimate. And a big earthquake happens on average in this area once every 150 or 200 years, so experts think the region is long overdue for a major quake.

Rare Black Moon Event Set To Usher In Feast of Trumpets and End Of Days?
Behold The Ten Days of Awe
Ten Days of Awe
Rosh Hashanah and the Day of Judgment
by John J. Parsons
According to Jewish tradition, on Rosh Hashanah the destiny of the righteous, the tzaddikim
צַדִּיקִים) ), are written in the Book of Life ( סֵפֶר הַחַיּיִם ), and the destiny of the wicked, the
resha'im ( רשָׁעִים )ְ, are written in the Book of Death ( סֵפֶר הַמֵּתִים ). Most people, however, won't
be inscribed in either book, but are given ten days until Yom Kippur to repent before sealing
their fate. If a person turns to God and makes amends to those whom he has harmed, he may
be given another year to live in the following (Jewish) year. On the other hand, if he does not
repent, then the decree will be given that he will die during the coming year... In other words,
though the books are "opened" on Rosh Hashanah, our deeds during the first ten days of the
new year will determine whether we are written in the book of life or the book of death. The ten
days between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur are therefore accorded special sanctity and are
called Aseret Yemei Teshuvah the "Ten Days of Repentance."

Black Moon Rising
Rare BLACK MOON: Astrological Event to Herald ‘End of Days’ and Second Coming According to Some
September 28, 2016 · Unexplained / Other · 0 Comments
FRIDAY’S Black Moon could bring with it worldwide destruction and the second coming of Jesus Christ, Christians and conspiracy theorists have claimed.
On Friday September 30, a rare Black Moon will occur, which many are linking to the apocalypse.
The spectacular Black Moon occurs when the illuminated side of the moon is caught in the shadow of the Earth, making it virtually impossible to see.
The phenomenon happens roughly every 32 months, but this one holds special significance due to other universal activity this month.
The first day of September brought with it a ‘ring of fire’ solar eclipse – where the moon falls in line with the Earth and the sun above Africa, making it appear as if the sun had darkened.
This, coupled with the Black Moon, has got many fearing the worst.
One conspiracy theorist wrote on Facebook: “Those signs are letting us know that Jesus is soon coming. We are approaching the end of our world and the end of life on Earth for all human being. Every day, we have to come closer to our saviour Jesus Christ. For none can escape for what is coming for the Earth.”
Another wrote: “The Lord will make the moon turn red as blood … and turn black. Sounds familiar?”
When the rare double phenomenon is linked to the Bible, it can make for terrifying reading for Christians and conspiracy theorists.
According to website Signs Of The End Times, the Book of Matthew, chapter 24:29, reads: “Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken.”
In Luke 21:25-26, the Bible says: “And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and looking after those things which are coming on the earth.”
However, scientists say there is nothing to fear, and the Earth will carry on as normal during and after the Black Moon.
The Black Moon will mainly be visible in the Western Hemisphere, over North and South America, with the most western portions of Europe seeing it too.
It will reach its peak at 20:11 Eastern Time – where, in the US, it will be most visible – or 01:11 on Saturday morning UK time.

Jupiter's moon Europa may expel water plumes
Jupiter's moon Europa may expel water plumes from under icy shell, Nasa says
Evidence shows that moon’s liquid water bursts out into space, meaning that scientists can test samples for signs of life without drilling through miles of ice.
Scientists have found tantalizing evidence of a liquid water ocean swirling under the icy shell of Jupiter’s moon Europa, Nasaannounced on Monday, with new evidence of water plumes bursting out into space.
With Jupiter as a bright light behind the moon, the scientists observed Europa in silhouette, and with ultraviolet light saw what appeared to be evidence of the plumes.
“If plumes exist, this is an exciting find,” lead researcher William Sparks said. “It means we may be able to explore that ocean, that ocean of Europa, and for organic chemicals,” he added. “It would allow us to search for signs of life without having to drill through miles of ice.”
The apparent plumes seem to be mostly around the south pole, Sparks said, although one appears farther north and may be a likelier candidate for a mission. “We presume it to be water vapor or ice particles because that’s what Europa’s made of, and those molecules do appear at the wavelengths we observed.”

Muslim Militants Go Door to Door Killing Christians
The attacks come as Boko Haram kills four at a church and a boat captain starts trial for throwing Christian refugees overboard.

Three horrific incidents in three different countries highlight the global persecution of Christians by Muslim supremacists.
A mob of Muslim militants descended on Ndomete village in the Central African Republic (CAR) and went door-to-door killing Christians. The U.N. confirmed the casualty figures.
The militiamen, believed to belong to the Muslim militia group Seleka, killed 26 people and is thought to have deliberately targeted civilians. Seleka deposed then president Francois Bozize in 2013 and installed the Muslim Michel Djotodia instead.
Faced with mounting sectarian violence, Djotodia resigned in January 2014.
Although the Seleka group was officially disbanded, the group did not put down its weapons. Ex-Seleka fighters and Christian so-called “anti-Balaka” militias have been fighting since, displacing some 25 percent of CAR’s population.
“If the government is not going to beef up the security, then we are going to defend ourselves,” a local Christian leader told Morningstar News. “We shall not keep quiet as our brothers are dying.”
In Nigeria Boko Haram militants attacked Christians in Kwamjilari village after a church service on Sunday. Gunmen reportedly killed 8 people who congregated outside the church in north-eastern Borno State.
Villagers reported Boko Haram stationed gunmen on the road leading away from the church so they could shoot those trying to flee.
In Spain an immigrant from Cameroon went on trial for the murder of six other immigrants whom he is accused of throwing overboard while crossing the Mediterranean in his boat. The boat captain, identified as Alain N. reportedly blamed the rough seas which were rocking the boat on the prayers led by a Catholic pastor on board and consequently threw them overboard. Another man who helped him throw them overboard later died.
The pair, both from Cameroon, reportedly beat the Nigerian pastor with pieces of wood before throwing him overboard. They then searched the other passengers for amulets or other identifying signs of Christianity and similarly beat and hurled overboard five other people.
Alain N. “was aware that the victims could not possibly survive and that they would die, either by drowning, from the cold, or from the physical injuries they had suffered,” according to statements made by the prosecution. “He was aware of the low temperature, the rough seas and the great distance from the coast and the absence of any nearby boats which could rescue them.”

A recreation of Palmyra’s Arch of Triumph was unveiled in New York on Monday, almost a year after Islamic State militants destroyed the original structure.
The 1,800-year-old Roman arch was blown up by the extremist group last October, but a team of archeologists at Oxford University’s Institute for Digital archeology (IDA) set about recreating it, in an act of resistance to Isis’s rampant acts of cultural destruction in Iraq and Syria.
Standing at two-thirds the scale of the original, the arch is made of Egyptian marble and was built using 3D printing technology, based on photographs of the original arch.
Isis captured the city from government forces in May 2015, and progressively damaged its Roman-era ruins, staging mass executions in the ancient amphitheater. In addition to destroying artefacts, the extremist group looted and resold them to fund its activities.

Typhoon Meranti blasts Taiwan, targets China
Typhoon Meranti blasted Taiwan, and now it’s headed to China
By Angela Fritz

The entire island if Itbayat, north of the Philippines, could be seen through Super Typhoon Meranti’s clear eye early Tuesday afternoon. (NOAA/NASA CIMSS/SSEC)
On Tuesday morning, Super Typhoon Meranti became the strongest storm on Earth so far in 2016. Inside the eye wall, the wind roared at a constant 185 mph. That made Meranti the second-strongest typhoon on record in the Northwest Pacific. The only storm that was stronger — by a mere 5 mph — was Typhoon Haiyan, which killed more than 6,000 people in the Philippines in 2013.
Meranti would have been the equivalent of a Category 6 hurricane on Tuesday, if the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Scale extended beyond five. (It doesn’t.)
In its height, the storm’s eye passed directly over Itbayat, north of the Philippines. The entire, tiny island could be seen through the typhoon’s clear eye early Tuesday afternoon. This means that Itbayat, which had a population around 3,000 in 2010, took two direct hits from the super typhoon’s eye wall, which is where the strongest winds are located.
As of Wednesday afternoon, no one knows what happened on Itbayat. But PAGASA, the Philippine agency akin to the National Weather Service, told a Channel NewsAsia reporter that a military vessel could make the trek to Itbayat to provide aid to survivors:
Pagasa officer Romeo Ganal Jr told Channel NewsAsia that there had been no communication at all from the Pagasa Itbayat satellite station since midnight of Sep 13. There are currently no flights over the area as flight routes have been altered.
With no flights available, a plan has been drawn up for a Civil Defence team to use either a Coast Guard or Navy vessel to go on a fact finding and needs assessment exercise to Itbayat.
Right now there are no more details about when the team will depart, but Pagasa officer Ganal said more information might be available later on in the day.
Super Typhoon Meranti swept by Taiwan on Sept. 14. It's currently the strongest tropical storm on Earth this year, bringing powerful sustained gusts of wind up to 185 mph. (The Washington Post)
On Tuesday evening, Meranti’s eye passed less than 20 miles south of Taiwan. Even without a direct landfall, the super typhoon unleashed wind gusts over 100 mph. In Penghu County, an archipelago west of Taiwan, the wind gusted to 134 mph. Hengchun township reported gusts to 113 mph. The Taiwan weather agency said that it was the strongest storm in the township in their 120 years of record-keeping. Gusts reached 112 mph at Kaohsiung International Airport.
Wind gusts in southern Taiwan topped 100 mph in several locations as the center of Meranti passed by just to the south. This includes 112 mph at Kaohsiung International Airport and 113 mph in Hengchun.
Pingtung, Taitung and Hualien counties all reported one-day rainfall totals over 19 inches. The mountainous Taiwu Township measured an incredible 31 inches.
Now in the South China Sea, Typhoon Meranti is the equivalent of a Category 4 hurricane, and it’s headed toward China. The Joint Typhoon Warning Center expects the center of the storm to make landfall near Xiamen, China — a port city with a population over 3.5 million — on Wednesday afternoon Eastern time. The typhoon will be a Category 3 or 4 when it makes landfall.
Even though the storm has weakened since it swept by Taiwan, the most dangerous impacts could actually be felt in China. Because its eye remained over warm water, Meranti only slightly weakened after the interaction with Taiwan’s mountains. Weather Underground’s Bob Henson remarked Tuesday that Xiamen is particularly vulnerable.
“Should Meranti strike just south of Xiamen, that city and its major port would be at risk of surge impacts,” Henson wrote. “Given the mountainous terrain of China’s Fujian province, we can expect widespread torrential rainfall as a weakening Meranti slows down and grinds its way inland.”

Psalm 91English Standard Version (ESV)
My Refuge and My Fortress
91 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say[a] to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”
3 For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler
and from the deadly pestilence.
4 He will cover you with his pinions,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
5 You will not fear the terror of the night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
6 nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.
7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
8 You will only look with your eyes
and see the recompense of the wicked.
9 Because you have made the Lord your dwelling place—
the Most High, who is my refuge[b]—
10 no evil shall be allowed to befall you,
no plague come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways.
12 On their hands they will bear you up,
lest you strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the adder;
the young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot.
14 “Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him;
I will protect him, because he knows my name.
15 When he calls to me, I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble;
I will rescue him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him
and show him my salvation.”
