Vatican, in Switch, Will Join Palestine in Flying Flag at U.N.



"...The Holy See flag will be raised on Friday morning, when the pope addresses the General Assembly. There will be no ceremony, the archbishop said.

The Palestinians are planning a ceremony at the rose garden of the United Nations compound on Sept. 30, when their president, Mahmoud Abbas, is scheduled to address the delegates. The pope’s envoy will be among those attending the ceremony, as will the president of the General Assembly."
