HE MADE YOU ALIVE TOGETHER WITH HIM

Christian Research Network

HE MADE YOU ALIVE TOGETHER WITH HIM, HAVING FORGIVEN US ALL OUR TRANSGRESSIONS

The mark of one who has been truly made alive together with Christ is not sinless perfection, but rather one who is actually fighting the “good fight” of being a living sacrifice and walking in repentance. That being said, let’s look at two passages in which is found the only New Testament occurrences of the Greek Word συζωοποιέω or suzōopoieō, “to make alive together with another; to make a sharer of the quickening of another.”

The blood of St. Gennaro liquefies in Pope Francis’ presence

VATICAN INSIDER

St. Gennaro’s relic miraculously turned to liquid in Naples Cathedral. This usually only happens on the feast of the saint on 19 September. Sepe said St. Gennaro loves the Pope, the blood has already liquefied by half." But the whole relic eventually turned to liquid

GIACOMO GALEAZZIIN NAPLES
This is the first time it happened. San Gennaro’s blood had never liquefied during a papal visit to Naples before. None of the visits paid by Pius IX, John Paul II or Benedict XVI provoked the phenomenon. But the miracle was witnessed this afternoon, after Francis’ heartfelt address to faithful and clergy.

The Pope had taken the vial with the blood of St. Gennaro - displayed on the altar - in his hands and kissed it. Cardinal Sepe said over the microphone: “It is the sign that St. Gennaro loves Pope Francis: half of the blood turned to liquid.” The pronouncement was followed by a long applause from faithful. The Pope then replied: “If only half of it liquefied that means we still have work to do; we have to do better. We have only half of the saint’s love.” But the blood continued to liquefy until the whole relic had turned to liquid, with many faithful crying out as they witnessed this.

Prior to this, the Pope had set aside his written speech and continued off the cuff, describing some personal experiences he had had and encouraging faithful to worship and love the Church (“you cannot love Jesus without loving his Church”) and show apostolic zeal (“The Church exists in order to bring Jesus” to people, he stressed). “We need to start from Jesus and Mary, the Pope urged, before going on to condemn wheeling and dealing in the Church, the “terrorism of gossip” and the attachment to money displayed by some priests and religious. “Wheeling and dealing” in the Church is an “ugly” thing.

COLORADO (CBS SF) — NASA’s Mars Atmosphere and Volatile Evolution Spacecraft (MAVEN) has observed some puzzling atmospheric phenomena above the red planet. One of them has been billions of years in the making.

Just five days before Christmas, MAVEN saw a bright auroral glow in Mars’ northern hemisphere. We see aurorae at the highest latitudes on Earth — the northern and southern lights — when energetic particles crash into our atmosphere and cause the gas to glow. However, Earth’s light show pales in comparison to the aurora on Mars.

“What’s especially surprising about the aurora we saw is how deep in the atmosphere it occurs – much deeper than at Earth or elsewhere on Mars,” said Arnaud Stiepen, IUVS team member at the University of Colorado. “The electrons producing it must be really energetic

(CNN)

Relief workers reported "unbelievable destruction" after Tropical Cyclone Pam smashed the capital of Vanuatu, the Australian Red Cross said Saturday.

The Australian Red Cross said via Twitter that "humanitarian needs will be enormous. Many people have lost their homes. Shelter, food and water (are) urgent priorities" in Port Vila.

Meteorologists said the storm has weakened some, but it was still pounding the islands after hours of fierce winds and torrential rain.

"#CyclonePam still tearing through #Vanuatu. 'Much bigger than expected,' says our colleague in Port Vila. Initial reports of devastation," the Australian branch of UNICEF said on Twitter earlier.

Pam, one of the strongest storms seen in the South Pacific in years, earlier made a direct hit on the capital, raising fears of mass destruction.

Israeli Judge Rules Jews Must be “Allowed to Pray on Temple Mount”

“Justice, Justice you shall pursue, that you may live and inherit the land which the Lord your God gives you.” (Deuteronomy 16:20)

image: http://www.breakingisraelnews.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/temple-mount.jpg

Temple Mount

In a historic ruling, a Jerusalem magistrate court has allowed for the first time ever Jewish prayer on the Temple Mount.

Until this ruling, police have prevented Jews from praying at the holiest site in the Jewish religion, bowing to the desires of the Islamic Waqf, which controls the Temple Mount complex. Jews, and often Christians, who visited the Temple Mount are forced to endure continual harassment at the hands of Muslims.

The ruling is a decisive victory in favor of Temple Mount activist Rabbi Yehuda Glick, a recent victim of Islamic terror. In 2011, Glick was banned for two years by Israeli police from ascending the mount after a Channel 10 broadcast showed him uttering a prayer at the holy site.

This week’s ruling, issued by court judge Malka Aviv, stated that the police ban was implemented “without appropriate consideration, was arbitrary, and only out of concern for the consequences of the broadcast.” She wrote in her brief that “police must make sure that Jews are allowed to pray on the Temple Mount.”

Aviv also awarded Glick compensation of NIS 500,000 for losses to his livelihood, as he leads tours on the Mount, as well as NIS 150,000 for damages. His legal costs which must be paid by the police.
