More Severe Weather Impacts U.S.
(TheWeatherSpace.com) -- A storm system will bring heavy snow for the Central United States, northeast to Wisconsin this week along with severe thunderstorms in the South.
Snowfall is expected to start in Denver today, spreading northeast through Kansas and Nebraska where the heaviest amounts will fall. In Northwest Kansas, northeast to Central Nebraska it will be possible for a heavy band to develop in the upper level divergence section of this developing storm system across the plains. Over a foot is likely in those areas as a result.
As the surface low moves northeast over the week through Arkansas, Missouri and Illinois, expect the freezing level to rise near it so lower snow amounts expected for Iowa.
As for severe weather, currently thinking that Dixie Alley will once again have severe weather starting on Tuesday, pushing through Mississippi, West/Central Tennessee, and Alabama overnight and into Wednesday morning.
It will push through Atlanta on Wednesday and overnight into the Carolinas.
Severe weather, including large hail, damaging winds, and even tornadoes will accompany the system.
