Now, Rick Warren tweets about the mathematics of valuable relationships...
No surprise that Rick Warren uses mathematical functions in the context of human relationships. The same mathematical functions are employed in Rick Warren's Purpose Driven church growth equation.
Adding to the headcount and valuing those new additions while existing members that resist the change are devalued, marginalized and subtracted, creating division in the congregation.
Given his church growth tactics and the fact that Rick Warren is a CEO style pastor with thousands of pastors in his network, the tweet could also infer the following:
"4 kinds of people in your congregation: those whoadd, multiply, subtract or divide.Value & cultivate the first two."
Dr. Paul Elliott of Teaching The Word Ministries comments on the adds, changes and deletes in the Purpose Driven growth equation:
"...Rick Warren and his followers are posing as uniters, but in fact they are dividers. The Purpose-Driven Church movement may be able to unite unbelievers in an ungodly ecumenical cause, but it divides Evangelicals who follow after it from the one true Gospel. It divides them from all of the fundamental doctrines of the faith."
Rick Warren's tweet is evidence that reveals how it's really all about you, the pastor, and protecting your church's head count and profit margin at all costs.
