An earthquake measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale jolted the Pacific island country of Vanuatu at 10:13 Sunday Beijing Time (0213 GMT), according to the China Earthquake Networks Center.
The epicenter was monitored at 19.6 degrees south latitude and 168.3 degrees east longitude with a depth of about 20 kilometers, the center said.
Earlier, the U.S. Geological Survey said it was a 6.2-magnitude earthquake with an epicenter depth of 8.50 kilometers.
